"Lot Of Nonsense Talked About N.Z. Currency”
[Per Press Association. Copyright.] WELLINGTON, This Day. “In general, a country’s currency can buy goods only in the country where it is issued.” the Minister of Finance (Mr. Nash) said last night in a broadcast address. Mr. Nash said that a lot of nonsense was talked about New Zealand currency not being accepted in other countries. “Of course it is not—they want their own,” he added. Mr. Nash said that while the English pound was accepted in many countries outside England, he could name some countries where even this money was looked upon with suspicion.
