Chamberlain Laid Up With Gout
(Received 2 p.m.) i RUGBY, November 9. For some days, Mr Chamberlain has had threatenings of gout, which prevented him from taking his usual daily walks. Last night it developed into an acute attack, rendering it impossible for him to put a foot to the ground. If the attack takes its usual course ft may be a day or two before the Prime Minister will be able to get about. In the meantime, he is attending to papers and seeing colleagues in his bedroom. It is some 18 months since Mr Chamberlain had an attack of gout.
