Upper Wairoa Farmers Criticise Set Price
There was a good attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Upper - Wairoa Branch of the Farmers’ Union. Tangiteroria, on Monday, Mr A. A. McLauchlan presiding. Mr Glanville, of the Department of Agriculture at Whangarei, was present and showed an interesting series of films dealing with farming topics. Members of the Young Farmers’ Club were also present. In reply to an invitation to visit the branch, the Dominion president (Mr Mulholland) stated that he would be pleased to do so at the earliest opportunity. With regard to the guaranteed prices for dairy produce the following resolution was passed, .and is to be forwarded to Mr Nash: “This branch is of the opinion that Mr Nash is not sincere in his opinions when he asks farmers to increase production on the present prices for dairy pi’oduce.”
