Troops Intervene In Darwin Rail Strike
(Received 3 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day
A Darwin message reports that, protected by armed guards, defence forces of Darwin intervened in a railway strike to provide themselves with food and supplies, which have been short for a month. One hundred soldiers, using lorries, carried about 50 tons of flour and perishable goods, which wharf labourers unloaded from a British freighter on Monday, and which has been standing in trucks on a jetty since then. The rail way men are striking for higher wages.
