Hitler Unhurt In Explosion At Munich

(Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, November 8

THE BRITISH UNITED PRESS CORRESPONDENT AT MUNICH REPORTS THAT AN EXPLOSION OCCURRED AS HERR HITLER LEFT THE MEETING HELD TO CELEBRATE THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE BEER HALL PUTSCH OF 1923. The explosion occurred ;it 9.35 p.m. inside the beer cellar, 27 minutes after Hitler had left.

The police refuse details or the number of casualties, Several people are dead. The Fuehrer was not hurt. .Details are not available.

Same Enemies Today.

He added that their enemies in 1914-18 were the same today. It was said then that Britain fought for justice and had done so for the past three centuries, for which she received from God 40,000,000 square kilometres and 480,000,000 people to rule.

“The German people will not be cheated again. “The Allies’ promises in the hour of victory were all lies,” added Hitler. “Where is the much-vaunted freedom of peoples? “Where are all the promises of colonies? “Where is the assurance of general disarmament —all lies. “If one Englishman says England’s frontier lies on the Vistula, I tell him, ‘Sir, get bacjk to your Thames.’ “If an Englishman speaks of culture, I tell him, ‘Sir, the Germans had culture before England thought of it.’ “Little Interest in Poland” “If the British declare they arc responsible for the peoples of Central and South-Eastern Europe, we are equally responsible for Palestine and India. “When Lord Halifax refers to culture and art, I answer, ‘we have accomplished more in six years than Britain has in 100 years.’ ” “The events in Poland had showed how little Britain was intersted in the fate of that country, otherwise she would have declared war on Russia, but the British said they had other war aims,”

“If the British are fighting to end war they should not have started this one.

“We are also convinced there must be an end to war which must not recur every few years;-but each nation must limit its interests' to its own sphere. “Britain must realise thatjmy attempt to establish a police dictatorship must fail.

“We are fighting for the security of our people. “Germany is filled with an unconquerable will. Britain does not want peace.

“I have already spoken to the Reichstag. “I have nothing to add to that speech. The rest will be said in a language that Britain will understand. “I regard it as a triumph for commonsense that we have made an agreement with Russia. Ready For Five-Years’ War, “Germany will never, never capitulate. “The day war broke out I gave Marshal Goering orders to prepare for a five-years’ war. “Our strength against outside enemies is great and steadfast. “We are spiritually and economically armed. ' “We have developed all our resources to the last detail. “They will never lay us low economically or militarily. There can only be one victor—that is us.”

Hitler concluded by paying a tribute to the victims of the 1923 putsch, and added that to the party comrades, “our party, our German people, and above all our victorious army, sieg hell."

His tone changed from its earlier hesitancy to bitterness and sarcasm as his speech progressed. He spoke for 50 minutes.
