L. W. Frank Wins Bay Championship

[Special to “Northern Advocate ”l KERIKERI. This Day. Flaying consistent golf, L. W. Frank, of Kaikohe, who recently won the North Auckland golf title, added to his list of victories on Sunday when he secured the Bay of Islands championship, which was played on the Kerikeri links. Fifty-four entries were received for the championship from the following clubs: Kaikohe, Kerikeri, Whangarei, Waitangi, Okaihau, Wellsford, Kaeo and Pakaraka. In the championship, which was held over 36 holes, Frank returned 81-88-169, and the runner-up, A. Burnett (Ckaihau), was close behind with 84-88-172. Kerikeri Title. O. Grant, of Wellsford, won the Kerikeri championship, with 81-84-165, the runner-up being Frank, of Kaikohe, who returned 81-88-169. In the morning medal handicap match, A. A. Anderson (Okaihau) won on a count back from B. Davis (Waitangi). A. Riddell, of Kerikeri. was victorious in the bogey handicap, and G. K. Williams, of Kaikohe, was runner-up. Teams Match. A Kaikohe team, consisting of E. Baker, P. M. Williams, D. Law and G. Lindsay, won the Bay teams’ championship with a gross score of 725, and a Wellsford team (G. H. Worker, O. i Grant, N. Becroft, and J. Watson) was victorious in the handicap teams’ match.
