London ’Change To Close
(Received 12 Noon) LONDON. August SI. The London Stock Exchange will close tomorrow. Announcing the war emergency plans last night, it was said that if it proved impossible to carry on business in the city, accommodation had been secured at Denham, but this step would only be taken in the last resort,
The stock market reacted to the war loan, which opened a point worse. City circles do not attach much significance to the downward trend; pointing out that it is a natural result of the over-bullish tendency of the past few days, which they think unjustified. , Operators are now adopting a more realistic attitude, more in keeping with the situation.
