A Natural Jumper. Bachelor King has been schooled in private, and is reported to be a natural jumper.
Promising Hurdler. Cape Garbo has had a good deal of schooling of late over the pony hurdles at Riccarton, and he shows marked promise. This- proved stayer should make good as a jumper. End of Career? Wykemist pulled up in a very bad way after the Hunt Cup Steeplechase at New Plymouth on Thursday. He has always been unsound, but this would appear to be the end of his career. Reappearing at Ashburton. Winning Rival .find Great Swoop continue to make good progress at Riccarton. Both are to reappear at the Ashburton meeting on September 16. and .they will then be sent to Wingatui to contest the Dunedin- Guineas. Out of Action. .. Kaiwaka was unable to race last week, on account of bruising a foot, but he will not be out of action very long. Another who met with a slight mishap which prevented him running at New Plymouth was the hunter Ararata. • ■//*- Likely Youngster. Minority, a Foxbridge three-year-old half-brother to Majority, had his first race at New Plymouth on Thursday. After being slow out of the barrier, he. afterwards showed good pace Minority, greatly resembles Majority in colour and conformation, and he should shortly be paying his way.
