WELLINGTON, This Day.
Official notification of the British declaration of war on Germany is contained in an Extraordinary Gazette, issued at 3:30 a.m. to-day. , ' The document states:—
“His Excellency the GovernorGeneral has it in command from His Majesty the King to ~v declare that a state of war exists between His Majesty and the Government of the German Reich, and that such a state of war has existed from 9.30 p.m. Mow Zealand standard time, on September 3, 1939.”
The proclamation is signed by the Governor-General, Viscount Galway,and the Acting-Prime Minister (Mr P.
Fraser)
