Keen Demand For Pigs At Paparoa
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report holding a pig sale at Paparoa, when there was a large yarding comprising chiefly stores and weaners. The demand was keen, and a total clearance resulted. Best store pigs made from 40/- to 47/-; smaller, 32/- to 37/-; slips, 23/- to 28/-; weaners, 15/- to 20/-. Ridden by the English jockey, E. C. Elliott, the French-owned horse Goya II was faintly cheered when it won the £BSOO Brownbank, the premier German race, carrying a special prize donated by Herr Hitler. * * * The New Zealand bowlers defeated Isis Central today by 57 points to 48. Results were as follows: Adess, 21—15; Dee, 18—20; Weatherburn, 18—13.
