Japan Awaits Developments
(Received 11.30 a.rn.) TOKIO, July 28,
The Anglo-Japanese conference discussed Japan’s demand for the forfeiture of the Chinese silver bullion in the Tientsin Concession, and adjourned until Monday to allow consideration of the unsettled points. The Japanese Foreign Office spokesman said the conference was progressing smoothly. In a friendly atmosphere. The Foreign Minister, Mr Arita, is reported to have told the Cabinet that he intended to await further developments before taking action over the United States abrogation of the commercial treaty. Japan does not intend in the meantime to initiate a move for a new treaty.
