Electricity Charge For Bay Hospital

t Special to “Northern Advocate”l KAIKOHE, This Day. When the complaint being made by the Kawakawa Public Hospital, that the proposed electricity rate was exorbitant,' was being discussed by the North Auckland Power Board, the chairman, Mr A. E. Bissett, pointed out that both bodies represented the same interests. “What is one board’s loss is the other’s gain, and therefore the gain 10 the ratepayers is as big as the loss,’’ he said. The engineer, Mr L. Mandeno, stated i that larger hospitals throughout the country were still paying higher rates than that decided upon for Kawakawa. Until the Power Board was fully on its feet, it would not be profitable to charge the Hospital Board less than what had been asked, namely, 6 l-3d per unit. On the motion of the chairman, It was decided that the engineer approach the hospital authorities in connection with the matter, and report to the next meeting.
