Mass Production Farming In Russia

Farming in Russia is carried out on a mass scale similar to the mass production in industry in other parts or the world. Under the collective system, the private farm is dispensed with and all resources are pooled and divided. I nose statements were made by Mr T. McGillick. leader of the Australian trade union delegation which visited Russia to witness the May Day celeeialioris last year, and who is now travelling through the Dominion under the patronage of the New Zealand Federation ot Labour. Mr McGillick will deliver a lecture in conjunction with a moving picture film of Russia at the Madeira Flail on Sunday evening, while similar lectures at Portland and Hikurangi are being ■ arranged. The party, of which Mr McGillick was leader, travelled from London to Leningrad and then to Moscow. Kharkov in the Soviet Ukraine, Rostov-on-the-Dcii. and Sochi, which is an entire!;.' new health city in the Soviet Riviera, on the shores of the Black Sea. Comprised entirely of hotels and rest homes, Sochi has been built since the revolution, and every facility is available for workmen to,enjoy a restful holiday. During five weeks spent in Russia the delegation found free entry everywhere. Special trains, high-powered cars, and an array of interpreters were available to them. — r
