MINISTER'S APPRECIATION. — The men on the Ngahauranga Gorge highway going back to work after having been thanked by the Minister of Public Works the Hon. R. Semple, recently. On the left is seen the sturdy fence to the stock route now clear of traffic all the way through the gorge. In the middle of the four-lane highway is the barrier, planted with pohutukawas. Beyond the footpath on the right is seen the extent of the filling to obtain the desired grade.
