“In Old Mexico”
Few Hollywood character players have had roles in more important productions than ample Anna Demetrio, vvho will be seen as a romantic Mexican housekeeper in Paramount’s new “Hopalong Cassidy” range drama, “In Old Mexico.” Born in Rome, the daughter of a highly-placed Italian naval officer, and educated at a convent and at the University of Rome, Miss Demetrio played on the stage in most of the European capitals before coming to the United States a few years ago. Since her screen debut in 1933, Miss Demetrio has had roles in such famous films as “The Crusades,” “Maytime” and “The Texans." The actress’s most distinguishing feature is her gigantic size—she weighs three hundred pounds, is a yard wide and occupies an entire seat in a limousine when she is driven to a studio or location!
