Record Fields For Rangitikei Meeting

Record acceptances have been received by the Rangitikei Hunt Club for its annual meeting, which will bo held at Marton to-morrow.

The entries include many horses who have been running prominently during the winter, and also a few performers who are being prepared for early spring racing. That there are plenty of maiden candidates in the district is evident by the list for the Glenmore Maiden Race, which has attracted a field of 24

acceptors. Betting will be under the singlepool system. Support should be forthcoming for l the following candidates:— Glenmore Maiden: Colossal Chief, Ghana Lass, Peach King. Rosebank Hurdles: Golden Memory. Princess Isabel, Tigreterre. Closcburn Handicap: Screen Star, Viracious, Haupongi. Hunt Cup Steeples: Kikiroki, Blue Tiger, Lady Callaghan. Ricldiford Handicap: Sporting Gift. Liane, Mataroa. Ladies’ Bracelet: Kohika. Lacan, Inheritance. Springrove Handicap: Lucullus Boy, Liberal’s Mint, Shining Hours. The acceptances are;— 12.0:

Greatly Improved. Airing ran below form at the Wanganui winter meeting, but those races have improved him a great deal. He is likely to show up to better advantage at Marton to-morrow.

Assured of Support. Mittie has not raced since Easter, but the Levin mare is good on a soft track, and her pet distance is seven furlongs. If she takes her place in the Riddiford Handicap at Marton to-morrow she will be assured of solid support. May Surprise. The Otaki gelding, Dorado, has shown no form at all since ho won at Marton in the spring, but he is reported to have been working well in recent weeks. He might surprise in the Riddiford Handicap at the Rangitikei mooting to-morrow. More to Follow. The good impression he created in making the running to the false rail in the Trial Plate at Trontham was borne out by the effortless win Black Majesty scored at Hastings last Saturday, and that victory is likely to be the precursor of more in (lie now season.
