Hinehau strode home from the threefui'long post in 43 seconds, and Waitarma completed a similar task in 40 seconds. Valspear, after taking 13 2-5 seconds for his first furlong, went on to complete half a mile in 54 seconds. Melvanui came home from the sixfurlong post in 1.23 4-5, the last "five furlongs being covered in 1.9. Bonnybolle and British Talent sprinted three furlongs in 40 4-5 seconds. Tutor was timed to run five furlongs in 1.8 1-5. Biddy Girl was given an easy three furlongs, taking 43 3-5 seconds. Over a similar distance, Bide-a-Wec recorded 39 4-5 seconds. Silver Stick. Lulanist and Pern were bunched at the end of three furlongs in 39 4-5 seconds. Master Appellant and Toolcy Street got to the end of half a mile in 54 seconds.
