The North Auckland Farmers' Cooperative, Ltd., report holding the following sales during the wewek; KAMO CLEARING SALE. On Tuesday we held Mr Norman Rountree’s clearing sale at Kamo. The attendance was large and competition keen. The cows were nice type grade Jerseys and averaged £lO 4/, whilst the heifers, 'which were rather close
to profit to shift any distance, averaged £7 7/6. Pigs and sundries also sold remarkably well, whilst 6i tons of baled meadow hay made £7 per | ton. WAIPU. On Tuesday, the Waipu yarding was about up to the usual standard, and competition was very keen for any good quality dairy cattle. Cow beef also showed an advance on late sales. Best dairy cows sold from £7 10/ to £8 2/6: August-September calvers, £6 to .£7 2/6; backward and aged cows, £4 5/ to £5 15/. Best dairy heifers sold from £5 15/ to £6 12/6; others, £5 to £5 12/6; small and inferior heifers, £4 2/6 to £”? 17/6; prime fat Shorthorn cows, £8 2/6 to £9 medium fat cows, £6 10/ to £7 9/; light fat cows, £5 15/ to £6 6/. Fat Jersey cows, £4 15/ to £5 12/. Good boner cows, £6 6/. Fat Jersey cows, £4 15/ to £5 12/. Good boner cows, £2 10/ to £3 17/. Light boner cows, 35/ to £2 8/. Potter cows, 17/ to 29/. Boner bulls, £3 15/ to £5 12/6.
OHAEAWAI. On Wednesday, at Ohaeawai, we had a heavy yarding of dairy cattle. We also yarded about 200 rising threeyear and your-year steers. Competition was good for any classy dairy cattle, but inferior cattle were hard to quit. The steers were sought after, but the chief vendors’ ideas of present values were a bit higher than most purchasers were prepared to pay. Best dairy cows made from £6 .10/ to £8 2/6; medium quality, £5 5/ to £6 7/6; backward and aged cows, £4 5/ to £5 2/6; best heifers, £8 to £9 5/; others, £5 15/ to £6 7/6; small and backward heifers, £3 15/ to £4 17/6; heavy fat cows, £7 10/ to £8 5/; fat Jersey cows, £5 5/ to £6; prime fat bullocks, £lO 15/ to £11; 31-year Hereford bullocks passed at £8; 31year Shorthorn bullocks, £5 17/6 to £8; 21-year Shorthorn bullocks, £4 7/6 to £4 10/; 18-month-old steers, £2 10/ to £3 12/6; cows and calves. £2 5/ to £2 12/6; boner cows, £2 10/ to £2 16/; potter cows, 35/ to £2 2/; boner bulls, £5 5/ to £5 17/6; yearling Jersey heifers, small, 30/ to £2 2/: weaner pigs. 16/ to 23/; stores, 26/ to 29/. KAMO. At Kamo, on Thursday, we had a very good yarding of dairy cattle and competition was brisk for all good sorts; -inferior cattle were hard to sell. Beef was not too plentiful and sold at slightly better than late rates.
