Lord Glanely’s Colt Loses On Protest

On a protest, the winner of the National Breeders’ Produce Stakes, the Colombo—Rose of England colt, owned by Lord Glanely, was disqualified, and the race, run at Sandown Park, was awarded to Stardust. Result: — National Breeders’ Produce Stakes, a sweepstake of 50 sovs. each, with 1000 sovs. added; two-year-olds; five furlongs.—Stardust, 8.1, 1; Piping Rock, 8.10, 2; Great Truth, 8.7, 3. Eight started. Won by a length and a-half. Promising Colt, The New Zealand-bred colt, Shipley, ran third to Grey Derby and Blinky Bill in the Turf Club Handicap at the Canterbury Park races at Sydney on Saturday. Line on Form. Black Banner will probably be' a starter in the South Canterbury Steeplechase at Washdkye next Saturday. That race should give some line to his Riccarton prospects. Tutor For Riccarton. A feature of Tutor’s two outings at Trentham was the solid manner in which he completed his tasks, and this glimpse of form has induced his owner to tackle the Riccarton trip next: month.
