When Tokens Were Used In New Zealand
Mr F. Rowe, of Kaitaia, in going through an assortment of old coins and relics, found a token issued by the Manawatu Farmers’ Co-operation Ltd., representing a value of 2/-. In size and appearance, the token is very much like a penny. Both sides are alike, bearing the name of the firm issuing it, with 2/- boldly shown in the centre. There is no date, and the circumstances of its origin are unknown to the present owner or to anyone to whom he has submitted it for examination.
