France Displeases Italy by Cession of Hatay to Turkey

ROME, July 13. TTALY HAS SENT A NOTEI TO FRANCE STATING THAT THE CESSION OF HATAY TO TURKEY IS AN DEVIOUS CONTRADICTION OF THE PURPOSES OF THE MANDATE, AND CONTRARY TO THE WISHES OF THE POPULATION.
The Note complained that the cession t was negotiated without the knowledge and consent of Italy, which was one of the Powers that handed over the mandate to France in 1920.
Italy, for that reason, expressed complete and fullest reserve ccncernmg comments of the new accord.
