Busy Day At Kaikohe Police Court
CSjrecial to “Northern Advocate”'] \ KAIKOHE, This Day. Yesterday was indeed a very busy day, in the Kaikohe Court. During the morning 13 witnesses in the Okaihau accident case were heard, and as soon as this was concluded, several minor charges were heard. Ihaka Rameka, a Kaikohe labourer, was fined £2 10/- and ordered to make £1 9/10 restitution on a charge ot stealing groceries, valued at £1 9/10, at Kaikohe on March 10. On a charge of stealing 44 gallons "of petrol at Opononi on April 7, David Waiomio, a labourer, of Oromahoe, was fined £5, with 7/6 costs. For obtaining goods amounting to £4 2/1 by false pretences, Alfred Poutai, a labourer, of Tangowahine Valley, was convicted and fined £5. A Kaikohe lorry driver. Lionel David Muir, who appeared on a charge 6f negligently driving a motor-vehicle on the Ohaeawai-Okaihau road on May 22, was fined £4, with £1 5/costs. Allan Inwood, labourer, Okaihau, was convicted and fined £3, with 10/costs. for being found unlawfully upon enclosed premises at Okaihau on May 20.
