South Hokianga Win At Rawene

[Special to “Northern Advocate”] RAWENE, This Day. On a heavy field, waterlogged in places, at Rawene, South Hokianga defeated Whangaroa,. 15-8. The game was the final inter-union trial prior to the selection of the Northland representatives, and Mr I. Finlayson (sole selector) and Mr H. E. G. Smith (treasurer of the North Auckland Union) were in attendance. South Hokianga had more finish to their movements and deserved their win. The forward play was lively, but, under the conditions, backs were .given little chance to air their wares.
