Central And Oneroa Bathe After Mud Scramble

Central and Oneroa staged a real mud battle at Batley and concluded the afternoon with a dip in the sea. The field was a churned up ocean of mud, players being unrecognisable five minutes after the start. Under the circumstances the backs had an easy time, while, the forwards fought up and down the field in a flurry of mud and water. No tries were scored, victory going to Central by two penalties from V. Cullen’s boot, while K. Nathan landed one penalty for Oneroa, making the final score: Central 6, Oneroa 3.
