Vanora Completes 30,000 Miles Voyage

NEW YORK, July 7. With the New Zealanders, Captain Duncan Matheson, as sailing master, and Messrs Robert Fmdlayson and Gregory Hendren, on board, the American ketch-rigged yacht Vanora arrived at New York yesterday from Auckland, via Cape Horn, completing a 30,000-mile voyage. The owner-skipper, Mrs Marion Rice Hart, who set out from Cowes, England, in September, 1936, was still at the wheel'. • She made one gesture to civilisation, by using a bottle of nail polish (bought in Auckland) on her fingernails and toenails before receiving the press. She' intends to sell the vessel and remain here.
