Death Toll Of “Glorious Fourth”
(Received 11.0 a.m.) NEW YORK, July 4. With to-merrow as the climax of the celebrations, the death toll of the July 4 week-end is already 357, states a message from New York. Of the victims, 172 died in cars and 106 were drowned. Five boys were seriously injured by fireworks, and two are expected to die. One lost an eye and another a hand.
