Arab Support For Palestine White Paper

(Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 3. The Colonial Office has received the following message from Palestine: “A long, printed manifesto, signed by eight former commanders of Arab bands now in Damascus, criticises the Grand Mufti and the Arab Higher Committee for having rejected the British White Paper, on what are alleged to have been purely personal grounds,” The manifesto, which is being circulated widely in Palestine, is said to have been drawn up at a meeting of Mujahideen—holy warriors —in Damascus, by whom the eight signatories were elected as a committee. It indicates thht “the majority of the whole of the noble Arab people fully agree that the White Paper forms a good basis for the realisation of our natural aspirations in the cause for which we fought.”
