Man’s Death On Launch
j [Specier co “Northern Advocate ”] AUCKLAND, This Day. The body of Mr Cecil Earl, an Australian. aged about 50, was found yesterday on a launch at Rakino Island. The body was lying face downwards against the flywheel of the engine, and the launch had run ashore on the locks. Mr R. Sanford, a nephew of Mr Gilbert Sanford, owner of the island saw the launch lying on its side on a ledge of rock, and he climbed dawn and made the discovery that Mr Earl was dead. Inquiries made last night showed that Mr Earl was a single man who lived and worked alone. At the beginning of this year he took out a license to fish. He lived on his launch. His nearest relatives, his mother and sister are both in Australia—his mother as a permanent resident, and his sister on holiday.
