Transport Schedule For Northland

[(Special to “Northern Advocate”} AUCKLAND, This Day. Under the provisions of the Transport Licensing Act, 1931, the fixation

of rates for the cartage of goods has already been the subject of sittings held by Mr E. J. Phelan, No. 1 Licensing Authority, fn the Bay of Plenty. A schedule setting out the rates in various districts will be released shortly. There have been meetings between operators and interested parties in

Northland for consideration of this question, but the conferences did not end successfully. The authority will accordingly hold a sitting at Whangarei on the morning of July 20, in order to receive evidence concerning the fixing of tariff charges for the cartage of goods for Waitemata

and all counties to the north. When the Authority has arrived at its decision for the northern area, this schedule will also become a condition of the licenses granted to operators throughout the area.
