Heavy June Rainfall At Kaitaia

[Special to “Northern AdvocaDe ”l KAITAIA, This Day.

For the month of Juno rain fell on 22 days at Kaitaia and there was a total fall of 11.5 inches, compared with a June average of 6.59 inches. The heaviest fall was 2.55 inches on (he 28th. Juiy Opens Unpleasantly July opened with unpleasant weather conditions. Heavy cold showers, accompanied on Sunday night with electric disturbances, have followed each other with little intermission.

The telephonic system was affected in a number of places, calling for a good deal of attention by linesmen on Monday. While there has boon a groat deal of rain, traffic along roads subject to flooding has not suffered any serious disorganisation.
