Overseas Money Orders Limited
The following statement was made by the Chief Post Office yesterday.— “With a view to conserving sterling funds, the amounts that may be sent overseas by post office money order are further limited as from June 26. Money orders generaly will be subject to a maximum of £3, and will be granted only after a permit has been granted. “Orders for .amounts under £l, Which are intended as subscriptions to magazines, membership in societies, repayments of small debts, assistance to relatives,, religious and charitable donations, will be issued without delay, provided that in such cases a total of £3 or more has not been remitted, during the previous three months. .
“A special form of application for permits will be available at all money order offices. The form provides for a declaration by the applicant of the purpose for which the remittance is desired, the total amount remitted during the previous three months, and whether the application is made in his cr her own behalf.
“If on behalf of another person, the name and address of that person must be supplied.”
