■V Security Tax—The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. I. Savage, stated yesterday that it had come ufeder his notice thai some people were under the impression that the social security tax of 1/- in the £ was payable on Savings Bank deposits. This, he said, ■was incorrect, the tax being payable only on interest earned by the deposits.
