City and Old Boys Continue in Winning Vein on Saturday
A s far" as maungakaramea was concerned the principal ATTRACTION AT KENSINGTON PARK ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON AGAINST CITY WAS COINCIDENTAL. THE SCORE BEING EXACTLY THE SAME AS WHEN THE COUNTRY TEAM MET' HIKURANGI ■I AST WEEK, AND ITS POINTS COMING IN EXACTLY THE SAME WAY,
The game.- was• rather ragged, City dominated the hrst spell und v. ith a 14—0 lead at the interval looked like ‘'.pending a happy second hair. Maungakaramea, however, came to light, as it usually does mi Vie second spell, and camped in the opposing territory, lack of finish spohng severs chances. City did not score again but, as against Ilikurangi. Maungakaramea notched seven points, a try and a goal from the field.
Another interesting match was provided at Kamo where the home team had all the best of. the first half without being able to finish off its opportunities. In the second half Old Boys put more spirit into their work and 10. minutes before time Saul scored a soloist try. Immediately afterwards. Skelton drop-kicked a penalty for the home team but in the last minute Old Boys went over .again to win B—3.
