Otaika Valedictory

The Otaika Hall Committee, supported by district residents, held a dance in the Otaika Hall as a farewell to Mrs Clarke and her brother, Mr Thomassen, who are shortly leaving the locality. Music was supplied by Mr Ledger, and Mr A. Tavinor acted as M.C.

After supper, in presenting Mrs Clarke with a leather handbag and Mr Thomassen -with a leather encased shaving set, Mr Steedman expressed appreciation of their assistance in playing music for local functions, and wished them future success.

Mr Thomassen replied, thanking those present for their entertainment and their tokens of farewell.

After the singing of “For They Are Jolly Good Fellows,” dancing was continued. —and don’t forget, “NUGGET” your shoes every morning. N 0
