Much has been written and much has been screened about the eternal triangle, but Warner Bros, have improved on the old idea in their latest modern comedy drama, which was presented at the Plaza Theatre on Saturday evening. The Whangarei season will continue until Wednesday evening inclusive. “Four’s a Crowd” is a true title, as Errol Flynn. Olivia De Haviiland, Rosalind Russell and Patric Knowles conclusively prove. Errol and Rosalind, newspaper editor and reporter respectively, interrupt the love affair of the proprietor, Patric. and an heiress, Olivia. Flynn wants to make Olivia’s grandfather. Walter Connelly, into a loved philanthropist instead of a hated plutocrat, and his efforts result in a general mix-up of affections with ensuing complications for everybody concerned. Connelly’s hobby is a miniature electric railroad and is responsible for as many amusing situations as the love tangles of the younger folk. After many wild adventures, which provide hilarious entertainment, the four mixed up lovers find themselves at the mercy of a Justice of the Peace, Hugh Herbert, who. in marrying them, proceeds to mix them up some more. Clever comedy and witty dialogue are features of “Four's a Crowd” which promises to have a most successful local season. The survey of the Seychelles Group by the Indian Ocean survey flying boat Guba, lias revealed a suitable base for all types of flying boats. The Guba will leave on Wednesday for Mombassa, British East Africa, says a message from Kahe.
