Two People Injured In Kamo Hill Smash

An attempt to miss a straying horse on the Kamo Hill resulted in a sedan motor car, containing five persons, going off the road, shortly after midnight on Saturday. Flying glass from a smashed window caused severe wounds to the right forearm of Miss Alice Coulson, aged 19, of Hikurangi, and wounds to the scalp, face and arms of Mr William Hildreth, aged 21, also of Hikurangi, while both suffered from shock. The other occupants, who were away from the side of the car which struck the bank, escaped injury, although all suffered from shock.

Mr J. G. Barclay. M.P. for Marsden, who was returning to Whangarei from a political meeting in the country, arrived shortly after the accident, and conveyed the two injured people to the Whangarei Hospital. When the accident occurred, the party was returning to Hikurangi from a dance in Whangarei.
