Maungakaramea Unlucky Against Kamo
Maungakaramea juniors were as unlucky as any team this season in losing to Kamo in the curtain-raiser at Maungakaramea. In the first quarter, Steedman crossed to give the home team a three points lead which it held until the closing stages. Several times the home team looked like increasing the lead, but with only a couple of minutes to go, a cross-field kick failed to find the line. and Guthrie sailed down the wing to run round and score behind the posts. Donaldson made no mistake, to give Kamo the victory by two points.
