CENTENNIAL QUEEN CARNIVAL Professional And Combined Services' Candidate
The first meeting of the Professional and Combined Services Queen Committee is being held tonight at the Whangarei Town Hall. At a previous meeting a decision to form this committee was made. The committee covers nurses, accountants, solicitors, bankers, Government departments, local bodies and those sections of the business community not covered by the designation "retail business.” Representatives of the various interests have been announced, although there are still some nominations to come. Those so far appointed to serve on tin's committee are:—Valuation Department, Miss Joan Hutchings: Agricultural Department, Mr M. H. Wallace; Public Works Department, Mr Collingwood; Native Department, Miss Walker; Public Trust, Messrs Inner and Williams; Whau Valley School., Miss N. Maxwell; Dental Clinic. Miss B. Webber; Social Security, Mr J. C. Hill; Whangarei' School, Mrs C. Reed; Borough Office, Mr G. Jones: Research Department, Mr N. H. Taylor; Harbour Board, Mr Hawkes; County Council, Mr Grams: Bank of New Zealand, Mr D. Adams; National Bank. Mr F. Tattcrsficld; Bank of New South Wales, Mr Cooke; Bank of Australasia, Mr C. K.
