Canada’s Enthusiastic Welcome Home to Popular Royal Couple

(Received 11.30 a.in.) SHERBROOK, (QUEBEC) June 12. 'THE KING AND QUEEN WERE WELCOMED BACK TO CANADA TODAY BY THE PEOPLE OF THE SAME PROVINCE WHICH MET THEM WHEN THEY FIRST STEPPED ON CANADIAN S # OIL, HALTING AT SHERBROOK, (QUEBEC) FOR 4 0 MINUTES WHILE EN ROUTE TO THE MARITIME PROVINCES.

Their Majesties were greeted by a crowd estimated at 100,000 persons, who maintained an unending cheer almost from the beginning to the end of the visit.

The King looked particularly tanned and rested after his visit to Hyde Park. He wore a grey striped double-breasted lounge suit, a grey shirt and a dark purple and blue striped tie.

The Queen wore an ashrose dress, short coat, a fox fur, and an off-face hat, matching her dress.

The royal visitors strolled among war veterans and chatted with them for Vi minutes. They drove for four miles through crowded streets.

The Royal train earlier arrived at

Delson for a brief pause at 7.45 a.m. It stopped a mile from the gaily decorated station where it remained until 10 a.m., when it continued on to Sherbrook. Crowds Mill Round Station.
