The market was quiet and rather uninteresting on the Auckland Stock Exchange this morning. Even Taranaki Oilfields, after their wide twoday fluctuations during the week, were steady at yesterday’s level round 7/9. Several local industrials showed further improvement, Auckland Gas holding yesterday’s recovery, and closing between 17/ and 17/6. There were further buyers for Farmers’ Fertilisers at yesterday’s sale price of 17/3, arid holders asked 9d more. San fords sedd » at a rise of 3d. ? Interest in Australians was still ? « rather slack, although Broken Hill f Proprietaries had a stronger market, | with buyers up to £3 8/6, and sellers ? 1/- higher. G. J. Coles’ shares were ? quoted unchanged, but the rights to | the new issue were traded at a drop | of 3d. Banks and insurances were ? virtually unchanged, while quotations f for Government stocks showed minor i variations, with fewer buyers on the | market, and weaker sellers in the case | of longer term 4 per cents. ?
