Born in Milwaukee. on November 11, 1899. Educated Jesu Grade School, high school. University (Marquette). Married very happily to Patricia O’Brien. Alter an extensive stage career, Pat was completely down and out in New York. He was on the point of taking a job as orange salesman, when a phone call from Howard Hughes in California sent him post haste to play a part in “The Front Page" (United Artists. 1931). This was the beginning of a successful screen career. “PUBLIC ENEMY”—Is it true that Edward G. Robinson, the star of “The Last Gangster.” was formerly a gangster? ANSWER.—No. Robinson was born in Bucharest. December 12, 1893. Was educated in New York public schools and Columbia University. Made his
first stage appearance in amateur theatricals, and then vaudeville. His first screen appearance was in “The Bright Shawl,” with Richard, Barthelmess, in 1923, Biut not until eight years later did he achieve fame as a character actor.
