Beef and mutton prices shewed a slight rise on recent markets at the North Auckland Farmers’ Co-op. sale this week.
There was a large yarding, and springers also sold well, anything close to profit meeting a good market. Dairy cows, close to profit, made from £6 10/ to £7 15/; July-August calvers, £5 5/ to £G 2/6; backward cows, £4 to £4 15/; best heifers, £5 5/ to £6 2/6; others, £4 to £4 17/6; light fat bullocks, £8; heavy fat cows, £7 to £7 15/; medium fat cows, £G 2/6 to £6 18/; light, £4 15/ to £5 2/6; heavy boners, £3 to £3 10/; light vealers, 35/ to £2 5/; cows and calves, £4 15/ to £5 2/6; boner cows, £2 to £2 12/6; light, 23/ to £1 15/; boner bulls, heavy, £8 to £9 9/; light, £4 to £4 7/; yearling Jersey heifers, small, 22/' to 24/; medium weight prime wethers, 23/.
