Arabs Reject Palestine White Paper
(Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 2
The Arab Higher Committee, in explaining its rejection of the British White Paper, said it doubts whether Britain will keep her promises, and considers that independence cannot be realised if it is conditional upon Jewish co-operation, says the Beirut correspondent of “The Times.” The committee says the period of transition is not fixed, as Britain claims the right to prolong it. Further, the committee denies Britain’s right to frame a Constitution and the Jewish right to comprise one-third of the population. It claims the complete prohibition of the transfer of lands to Jews.
