Marohemo District Lights Up

[Special to “Northern Advocate”l DARGAVILLE. This Day.

Yesterday was a “red-letter” day for the Marohemo district, situated in the O tarn a tea County, about eight miles south of Paparoa, ,as last night, at the public hall in the presence of a large .gathering, Miss Barbara Hill switched on the lights. The ceremony marked the introduction of power to the district.

The speakers included the chairman of the North Auckland Electric Power Board, Mr J. A. McLean, Mr V/, Collins, ,a member of the board. Mr S. P. Day, secretary, and Mr T. R. Overton, engineer to the board.

A former well known boxer. Mr. Oscar Olsen, died on Wednesday night at the age of 4G, at Mastcrlon. He represented Wellington at the New Zealand tourney sortie years ago.
