Burning Trawler

Ihe trawler Rex foundered in the Iron Pot at an early hour this morning, when fire resulted from a backfire from the engine. The trawler at the time was preI paring for sea. Fifty-two gallons of petrol on board the vessel was a possible source of danger to firemen, who played hoses from the wharf into the vessel, the interior of which is believed to be gutted. The damage lias not so far been estimated, as the vessel is lying on the sea-bed.
Mr. Malcolm MacDonald is expected to go to Geneva for the Mandates Commission discussions on Palestine on Thursday next.
