[Special to “Northern Advocate”! AUCKLAND, This Day.

At the fortnightly meeting of the Auckland Hockey Association, the chairman, Mr Trevor Clark, reported that the final figures showed that 80 teams had entered in the seven grades, an increase of 21 teams—a record.

Members of the committee expressed pleasure at the growing popularity of the game. Entries received for the Country Week tournament were:—Whakatane, Whangarei A, Whangarei B, Waipa, Franklin A, Franklin B, Rodney A, Rodney B, Rotorua, Piako. The matter of arranging the draw was left in the hands of the Country Week committee.
