Canada to Stop Alien Propaganda

(Received 1 p.m.) OTTAWA, May 30

The Minister of Justice, Mr E. Lapointe, in the House of Commons, announced that the naturalisation certificate of aliens who spread propaganda will be cancelled.

Foreign government representatives in Canada have been notified that they must not interfere with naturalised citizens. Free speech is necessary to democracy, but it does not confer on organisations which betray it, the right to destroy democracy. Mr A. Heaps, a Commonwealth Federation member, asked, since Russia was to be Britain’s ally, why Communism should be linked with Fascism and Nazi-ism.

Mr Lapointe said that Communism was just as abhorrent, regardless of ■what pacts were signed.
