Values Improve At Frankton

There was a smaller offering of ox beef at the Frankton stock sale yesterday.
Values showed a further improvement on last week’s realisations. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile, Agency Co., Ltd., reports.— Ox beef, £lO to £lO 5/-; plain and unfinished, £6 5/- to £7; cow beef, £5 15/- to £6; light heifers, £4 2/6 to £4 5/-; boners, £3 6/- to £3 14/-; medium, £2 10/- to £3 1/-; lighter, 30/- to £2 4/-; 2|-year Polled Angus steers, to £5 1/-; Hereford Cross steers, £4 14/-; 21-year Shorthorn steers, £4 to £4 2/6; vealers, 25/- to 31/-.
Sheep.—Prime Fat wethers, 24/3 to 25/-; heavy fat wethers, £1 0/3 to £1 3/-; medium quality, 18/6 to 19/9; excellent prime fat lambs, to 26/6; lighter, 15/6 to 17/9; others, to 15/-. Pigs.—Prime heavy baconers, to £3 16/-; medium, £3 9/- to £3 12/-; lighter, £3 2/- to £3 7/-; heavy porkers, £2 9/- to £2 14/-; medium, £1 15/- to £2 6/-; lighter, £1 5/- to £1 13/-; choppers, heavy, £3 9/- to £3 12/-; others, £2 to £2 10/-; good stores, 20/- to 24/-; medium, 15/- to 19/-; good weaners, 9/- to 13/-; others, 4/- to 7/6.
