Oversupply Of Fat Cattle At Stortford

Due to the oversupply of fat cattle, there were frequent passings at Stortford Lodge sale yesterday. Siore cattle showed no change on the low prices at recent sales.
Realisations were:—Aberdeen Angus cross bullocks, prime finished order, passed at £B/15/- to £9; unfinished sold to; £6/9/-; Angus, cows, medium finish, £4 tb £4/10/-; Hereford cows, good quality, to £6; Angus cross heifers, well grown, to £6/8/-; Herefords, similar order, to £6; lightconditioned Angus heifers, to £4/10/-; vealers, 27/G to 37/6; young Angus steers, to £3; good-conditioned older steers, to £5/10/-; Herefords, similar prices.
Store Sheep.—s-year ewes, freshconditioned, sound-mouthed, to 14/-; 4 and 5-year breeding ewes, 7/10; fattening ewes, nearly killable, 5/6; wether lambs, light-conditioned, 12/-; weiher hoggets, to 10/2.
Fat Sheep.—Prime quality ewes, 11/6 to 13/6; tops, 14/6; two-tooth wethers, 12/- to 15/-; best quality lambs, to 17/-.
