The Duke of Kent, in a speech at the Empire Society’s dinnei’, said: “The solidai’ity and genuine unity of the Commonwealth of Nations is the one feature emerging from the year’s difficulties and problems of which we can be extremely proud.” “If the people of Britain lived in anxious momexxts, they were no less anxious in the Dominions and colonies. This emphasised the unalterable will of the 'Bi’itish peoples to live in harmony with their fellows.
